Funkalicious Sounds Descend on Roanoke!
Plugged In-tertainment Presents…
The New Mastersounds
with special guests Polarity
British funksters, The New Mastersounds come off a whirlwind, multi-continental tour stint to fine-tune the groove frequencies at Blue 5 in downtown Roanoke. The funky foursome will hit the streets in the States for a tight, 10-night run to wrap up a blistering 2008 tour schedule that has funked up nearly every pub, dive and dance hall this side of the Milky Way
The NMS was a boogie favorite on the US festival circuit this summer, crushing crowds with their brand of tightly-knit, jazz-flavored, funk ditties. The NMS are currently warming up audiences for their much-anticipated effort Plug and Play, which is slated for a late ‘08 US release date. When The New Mastersounds take the stage, all preconceptions of four tea-sipping, crumpet-munching blokes will be sonically shattered by catchy, chicken scratch guitar rhythms masterfully crafted by frontman/producer Eddie Roberts. The talented back line features Joe Tatton on Hammond, Pete Shand on Bass and Simon Allen on Drums. The band has labeled their musical sound as “Grant Green and Lou Donaldson having a fight in a Hammond Organ shop while James Brown holds the coats”. This will definitely be something not to miss.
