Earth Day 09: Growing a Sustainable Community

The folks planning the annual Earth Day Festivities in Grandin Village passed this on to us and we want to pass it on to you. It’s an Earth Day Call to Artists and community groups ready to share your PEACE of the community Puzzle.

Celebrate Earth Day in the Grandin Village. We are lining the streets with artists of all types. It’s a great chance to share your talents and skills with many folks who are celebrating Earth Day. This year’s event is shaping to be very big!

A Free Public Festival to Celebrate
our relationship to the Earth!

Create an outdoor sculpture from recycled materials or other Earth friendly fun ideas.
Collaborative Weavings encouraged!
Musicians, and Poets are invited to share their talents throughout the Village.
Dancers, come and Link the energy from the Natural Foods Co-op up to the Post Office.
Maybe a massage table, or add your unique talent to the list.
We are encouraging a drum circle at the half way point, anyone want to organize that?
Puzzle Pieces:  Add your peace to the community PEACE WALL.

If you want to participate, contact Polly Branch, 774-6232, acornbranch64@aol.com or Ron McCorkle, ron@sharebike.org. Also, pass this on to any friends that you think will be interested!

But moreover, I think that we should celebrate earth day every day, through eco-friendly acts and sharing awareness with others. Through being eco-friendly active, collaboration and our collective thoughts, we will make a big difference that will benefit us all and the life giving planet that we live in. =)

  • Since my and my buddies can't attend this event, we're doing our share by cleaning our local lake on the 17th and we will be holding a mini-boat racing event the day after. Hope that more people out there will also do their share! :)
